The saints & poets set of 6 stamps issued in 1952 is the first commemorative set in post independence era which was printed by Photogravure Processing India. Rabindranath Tagore 12 Annas stamp happens to be in this set. It was the early Cllasic period of Indian Philately. Phialtelists were very enthusiastic and creative in making various types of covers and making them historical masterpieces by getting them cancellaed on appropriate date with relevant stamps.
