First Day Covers are issued on the first day of availability of new set of postage stamps. Three basic elements are brought out together to create First Day Cover. (1) There should be a cover official or private, with or without cachet appropriate to the theme of stamp (2) Stamp or Stamps issued and (3) First Day Official cancellation postmark.
