No official FDC was issued for 2 anna stamp of Indian Railway Centenary. However official cancellation on 16-04-1953 was given and marked on Plain or Private covers in red, black or violet ink.

As per the Postal Notice No.31 of 6th August 1948, in all at following 10 philatelic bureaus facilities were provided to philatelists to obtain their requirements of current issues of unused India Postage Stamps:-

(1) New Delhi, (2) Madras, (3) Bombay (4) Calcutta, (5) Lucknow, (6) Shillong, (7) Nagpur, (8) Patna, (9) Simla and (10) Cuttack.

Remarks
:

Thus in all 10 Philatelic Bureaus were working since 6-08-1948. Here an effort is made to present First Day cancelled covers of Indian Railway Centenary of all the 10 existing Philatelic Bureaus.
