1. This Series was introduced to meet the requirement that arose from introduction of new decimal  currency system i.e. 100 naye paise=1 rupee w.e.f. 01 April 1957 
2. In stamps of 8np (Issue date 7/05/1958), 15np & 90np (Issue Date 16/01/1958), currency was written as ‘nP’,   in other values as ‘N.P.’
