Description
:

Antarvedi is also referred to as Dakshina Kashi (Southern Kashi) locally. It has the importance of being the place where Vasishta Godavari meets the Bay of Bengal (sagara Sangamam).

Antarvedi is around 50 km from Amalapuram and is full of coconut trees and lush green paddy farms. One can see a canal running continuously alongside the road built by Sir Arthur Cotton and still maintained by the local authorities.

There is a famous Lord Sri Lakshminarasimha Swamy Temple and the speciality here is that God is facing towards West instead of East (usual direction of other temples in India). One needs to experience the Godavari meeting the Bay of Bengal. The view is awesome. One the left side is the big ocean and on the other hand, the Godavari River winding its way gently into the Ocean. The contrasting colours of the waters adds to the visual appeal.
