Narsapur is located on the banks of the Vasishta Godavari. It boasts of the Dutch and Portuguese establishments which has impacted the commerce of this area. Narsapur was known for its Lace making, ship and boat building and flourishing trading centre.

It is also known for the 300 year old temple Sri Adi Kesava Emberumaanar Swamy Temple and the Christ Lutheran Church which has one of the best Bell tones in the world.
