Kandakurthi is located at the confluence of Godavari, Manjira and Haridra Rivers and referred to as Triveni Sangamam. The river Godavari originated at Triambakeshwar, Nasik District in Maharastra State and enters the state of Telangana at Kandakurthi Village. There is an inter-state bridge joining Telangana with Maharashtra from where we can have a picturesque view of confluence of these three rivers. It is believed that a dip in the Godavari river washes away the sins and diseases and that Kandakurthi has the holiness equivalent to Kashi in the North and Rameshwaram in the South. The famous temples located here are Sangameswaralayam, Shivalayam, Ramalayam, Keshavasmruthi Mandiram and Skandamata Alayam.
